ABOUT

Makaio Toft is a writer and producer whose work connects with & amplifies the voices of the next generation of artists.

Her recent projects include her third residency at IRT Theater with Wake, a production of her BFA capstone play HEAT, the short film You Haven’t Changed, currently on the festival circuit. She has taken original work to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and previously won a category in the All American High School Film Festival. This spring, she is co-producing and directing a production of the critically acclaimed play Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel, and bringing her female-driven stage comedy WHITE MAN WITH GUN to life shortly after.

Makaio’s long-term goal is to expand her company, 35k, into a sustainable creative studio that develops original theater, film, and television—work built for the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry and the artists who will lead it.
