Makaio Toft is a writer and producer. A recent graduate of NYU Tisch’s Dramatic Writing program, she creates stories that balance humor and heart, with a focus on sparking social change. Her work is created to showcase the and provide meaningful opportunities for fellow artists of his generation. She has interned at various production companies, including Killer Films, and is entering her third writing residency at IRT Theater this October with Wake. Previous projects include his BFA capstone play HEAT and the short film You Haven’t Changed, currently submitted to festivals. Makaio’s long-term goal is to grow 35k into a sustainable production company that develops original work in theater, film, and television for the next phase of the entertainment industry.
