Makaio Toft is a writer and producer. A recent graduate of NYU Tisch’s Dramatic Writing program, she creates stories that balance humor and heart, with a focus on sparking social change. She has interned at various production companies, including Killer Films, and is entering her third writing residency at IRT Theater this October with Wake. Previous projects include her BFA capstone play HEAT and the short film You Haven’t Changed, currently being submitted to festivals. She has also taken a show to the EdFringe Festival, and won a category in the All American High School Film Festival.

Makaio’s long-term goal is to grow 35k into a sustainable production company that develops original work in theater, film, and television for the next phase of the entertainment industry.
